Welcome to the S.V.R.S. Chaplain's blog. This is another great way where I can be of service to the dedicated men and women of the Scottsville Rescue Squad. Ths of course includes their families and the people who call in and trust in the SVRS Team.
My hope for this blog site is to use it as a vehicle to give encouragement, insight, direction and opportunities for those with questions about spiritual and emotional matters. As an RN and Pastor I have found that people don't often do fit into counseling books, especially when in the middle of a major life event or crisis. There are just too many variables to deliver "textbook" and effective counsel. Its about RELATIONSHIPS. These are essential for helping anyone going through a life changing event. Taking the time to listen, allowing the expression of thoughts and feelings gives an open door to effective and compassionate counseling.

My focus will always be to go to The Word of God (The Bible). That is where true, effective and compassionate counseling comes from. God offers reliable promises, statements of truth, a comforting power all wrapped in a patient love that cannot be found anywhere else. This helps many to readjust their view and then their lives during and after a life changing event. I enjoy being a steward of these words and passing them on to those who ask or need. God knows we are not perfect and that troubles will come. That is why He is constantly waiting for us to go to Him for help. He wants to show us who He really is and what He can do.
